Property owners across the county are reminded that the deadline for paying real estate and manufactured home taxes is fast approaching. All payments must be received by Wednesday, August 26, 2026, to avoid penalties and interest charges.
The tax bills cover the second half of the fiscal year and apply to both traditional homes and manufactured housing units. Officials urge residents to check their statements carefully for any errors or discrepancies before submitting payment.
Several payment options are available, including online transactions, mail-in checks, and in-person drop-offs at the county treasurer's office. For those who have not yet received their bill, it is recommended to contact the tax assessor's office immediately to request a duplicate.
Late payments will incur a 10% penalty plus monthly interest at a rate of 1% per month. Residents facing financial hardship may qualify for a payment plan, though applications must be submitted before the deadline.
The county treasurer emphasized that no extensions will be granted beyond the August 26 cutoff. Property owners are encouraged to plan ahead and avoid last-minute delays, especially for mailed payments which must be postmarked by the due date.
